Progess on the House

Here is our house in the beginning phases of framing - taken Sunday... Taken Monday...
it's hard to tell really what this if you haven't seen our plans, but for us it is so exciting! We are happy that we have a nice big tree in our backyard already (especially since it's not a poplar!)

My Brother

So, I just found out my brother has this blog (where have I been?) and I'd like you all to check it out...his books & cd's are really awesome. They are targeted to youth, but all of us can definitely learn from them. He is a speaker who is really entertaining but also very spiritual - you'll be both laughing and crying. So yeah, I'm a little proud of my big bro...

Preschool Graduation

Hooray for Holly! Today she officially graduated from preschool. She started out the year at one preschool then switched to another when we moved. She loved them both and was fortunate to have great teachers & fun friends. She will miss going to preschool, but is surely looking forward to Kindergarten! You can see from the pictures that she likes to pose for the camera, and she also likes to "perform" (aka goofball) in front of a crowd! :-)

Cinco de Mayo

Ammon says Hooray for parties! We had a fun dinner with Mark's family to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, complete with Mexican food, flan, and of course, a pinata!

While the kids were busy gathering their stash, Heidi had a great time whacking the rest of the head from the pinata

My Dream Kitchen

So I found this picture of what I'm hoping my new kitchen style will be like...isn't it cute? I'm not sure about the wall color yet, but I just love these cabinets, the hood, and the pendant lights. We also will have light hardwood similar to this in the dining room. I actually won't have a window seat in the kitchen (darn!) but would like to have one similar to this in the office where kids can come sit and read or whatever while I'm working in there. Framing should start on our house this week...hooray!

Fast Fingers

Thanks Kiersten for the link - it was fun to see how fast I can type even though it's been seven years since I was in the workplace and more like ten years since college! I guess I've still got it! Let me know what you get...

Funnies

A post on a friend's blog just reminded me of a funny thing that happened a few weeks ago...we finally made our maiden trip to IKEA and had fully enjoyed our dinner and browsing, ending up in the kids section to let our kids play around a bit. I was studying some products for a bit then turned around just in time to see Ella standing up off one of the kiddie potties and pulling up her pants. Aagh! Panic! "Ella, what are you doing?!?" ... her innocent reply: "I went potty mommy." I of course was mortified, and a couple walking past busted up laughing at my dilemma. LUCKILY after walking over and inspecting things I realized that she was just pretending and thankfully had not actually "gone" on the potty. I don't know what I would have done! I let them keep on playing although Ella was sternly reminded to keep her pants on!

Our Lot

Here we are standing on our lot...the "before" picture. There are finished houses on both sides of us & across the street - this is pretty much the last lot. We closed on our construction loan Friday and we are scheduled to start digging Monday...HOORAY! I will try to keep the post current on construction photos especially since I drive by there every day on my way to take Josh to school. I'm so excited we're finally starting!

Look at me!

Hey Everyone I'm three months old! I'm a big boy & learning to reach for things...I especially like swatting the toys on my bouncer...hooray for learning new things!!!

Happy Birthday Ella & Joshua!

Ella turned three Saturday and Josh turned seven yesterday! It’s hard to believe my little kiddos are growing up so fast. Although I must admit that I’ve been thinking Ella was already three for a long time now, considering her great vocabulary & speaking abilities. She is a little sweetheart and has a tiny little voice to match. She woke up bright and early Saturday morning and said, “Mommy! I turned three!!” Josh was very anxious for his birthday and I can’t believe I’ve been a mom for seven years. He is as smart and ambitious as ever, with a temper to match…we are working on that. We aren’t doing “friends” parties this year due to our circumstances, but we did have grandparents celebrate with us and we went to Chuck E Cheese last night, so the kids for sure haven't felt deprived. It's been busy but fun!
